Dobrivoie Kerpenisan is an internationally awarded director and visual artist passionate in film ever since. His fresh and sensitive documentaries received international recognition: winning Grand Prix in Tokyo, Golden Hugo in Chicago, Best Film in Oberhausen Germany and others.
This brought him the invitation to screen his work in New York at MOMA, Centre Pompidou-Paris, Barbican Center London and in Hollywood for OSCAR Nomination Best Documentary.
Dobri`s ability for emotional storytelling with strong imagery made his films memorable bringing an authentic and natural spirit also to advertising. His empathetic approach can be found in photos as well. For the book - A Woman and a Half - he portraited the last german film diva HILDEGARD KNEF – on her last trip to the America.
A break trough for the career was when his talent was discovered to shoot both DU BIST DEUTSCHLAND campaigns. All the people were captured by his genuine feeling and strong visual approach – and awarded twice with the Golden EFFIE.
From here he improved more and more his eclectic docu-style and addopted it for various commercials: all vivid, playfull and cinematic. Celebrities, Testimonials, Car commercials, Lifestyle, Music videos and Corporate films complete his portfolio and show his large interest and skills.
